The na,e Julius Hertzel was the employee that made the coat, his name is stitched on the inside. These lap robes were made when a horse (or other animals) died and an owner wanted to keep memory of them around they would take the hinde to EDE and have lap robes made. This robe is in decent condition, there are a couple parts on the right sleeve where the seam is splitting and also the right arm elbow has a split in the seaming. It measures 54" from top to bottom and then from shoulder to shoulder its about 21" Please see pictures for details and condition. Sold as is. This is estate fresh.
